I decided to make this hat because I found some really cute lady bug buttons I wanted to do something with. This pattern was written with child to adult large sizes so I had to do a little substitution.  I took the child size and changed the gauge with a smaller needle and lighter weight yarn to get me an 18″ doll sized hat.  I think I made it just a bit too small but I’m happy with it. The hat can be worn in different positions to change the style.  I like it best as a beret.
