I finished my first doll pattern this weekend.  I wanted a red cape like red riding hood.  Unfortunately I didn’t have any of the red yarn in the correct weight so I knit double stranded with the yarn I did have.  It was my first time knitting double stranded.  I think the cape would have a neater appearance if I’d had the right yarn.

I would change the pattern to use a provisional cast on for the cape bottom so that the bottom and hood would have a smoother joining.  This was also the first time I used a three needle bind off.  I really enjoyed this bind off and like the neat seaming it gives.  My cape was a little tight around the neck but with the ties it stays on just fine.

Overall I really like this pattern.  It could use some tweaking but I enjoyed knitting it.
