I really like how this version turned out; I definitely prefer it over my first version.  I found beads that had a wider center so I was able to use a crochet hook to attach the beads instead of pre-stringing them. This bag looks better with the beads attached this way but it’s not a huge difference.

I picked this yarn out because it was shiny and looked more like wrapping paper to better suit my idea of making the bag the wrapping for Theresa’s birthday present.  The yarn was a bit frustrating to knit with because it would split and twisted up easily.  I was worried that it would look cheap because of this but I’m happy with the final bag.  This yarn also ended up giving me a wider bag but stayed the same height so it has a wider stitch gauge than the original cotton bag I made.

My one big complaint with the pattern is the bottom of the bag.  I would prefer a flatter bottom as this one doesn’t lay flat.  Some of the beads on the side also end up as part of the bottom as well.

So my “wrapping” is done and holding the sock yarn and soak wool wash presents.  Now I just have to remember to bring it to work on Theresa’s birthday.
